When Winter Shows a Different Face: Of Lights, Lines and Contrast

Winter where I live feels like a constant stream of days, where the whole world is dipped in twilight and hushed under the bank of clouds and softly falling snow.  On occasion though, our run of gray winter days is broken by bursts of bright sunlight.  On these days, we are graced with crystalline skies, still cold air and brilliant reflections off snow and ice.

These sunny winter days have become some of my favorite to photograph.  I enjoy the contrasts inherent in the land during this time of year and there’s nothing like beautiful light to bring out the best of it.
